weekend

Another busy weekend coming to a close. We were out and about since Friday night, where we dined at one of our favorite neighborhood Italian restaurants, Paul & Jimmy's.

Caught up on lots of lost sleep, getting nearly 10 hours Friday night into Saturday morning. Too much sleep left me feeling out of sorts most of the day. We stopped at Le Pain Quotidien on Broadway and 11th Street for a quick brunch, then ran some errands before purchasing a small tree for our apartment at The City Gardener on East 17th Street.

Saturday night we met Jenn and Bryan for a birthday celebration dinner at Tamarind, our favorite spot for Indian food.

Got up super early this morning (5:30AM), caught up reading a pile of magazines....long overdue. Decided to head over to the Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle, and needed to find a nearby brunch spot. Todd recommended Whym, (see photo) which turned out to be a great choice. I had my usual granola with yogurt and Elliot loved the spicy scrambled eggs. Good coffee and service too....no wonder it draws such big crowds. Thanks again Todd....sorry your couldn't join us....maybe next time!!!

Time Warner Center hosts a handful of upscale shops, catering mostly to tourists and the B & T crowd. Elliot was set on purchasing dress shirts at Thomas Pink and I wanted to go to the Bose store for speaker stands and information on the BoseLink system. We also had our watches resized at Tourneau.

Walking through Union Square on our way home we came across a crowd of birdwatchers, all gawking at a rare yellow-tailed finch, which supposedly lost it's way while migrating to Mexico. Poor bird....hope it can survive NYC's cold winter temperatures.

Finch -- isn't he the weird short guy on that tv-show a couple years ago? :-)
